We each live in our own little bubble, bounded by our perceptions and mindset. We are able to perceive only the tiniest slice of all the information out there in electromagnetic world. That is further limited by our pre-conceptions of the event. We can only perceive what we can concieve. An American naturalist and an Irish farmer are walking down the same path in the auld country. There is a rustle in the bushes. One sees a rabbit, the other a leprechaun. Which one is right?
We are further imprisoned by another simple, inescapable fact: no one can see things through our eyes, and vice versa. We are floating bubbles of consciousness, all alone in the night, trying to communicate with the other bubbles. All systems of symbology, all arts, all crafts are ultimately about communication. Whether it is a book, a poem, a painting or a play, all these things strive to reach across the void and share something, a common experience perhaps, or sharing something new.
These systems became increasingly complex after we dreamed up this thing called 'Civilization'. Far from making people more 'civil' it rather set them at each other's throats, as man's natural instincts for intrigue and treachery rose to the surface. Plots against kings have been around as there have been kings. The Icelandic Things were notoriously complex and crooked, requiring skilled lawyers to navigate through the obscufation, corruption and deceit.
Man is a tribal animal since before the days we hunted wooly mammoths together. A herd animal indeed, to judge from most of the planet nowadays. In our natural desire to reach out and communicate with others, we instinctively seek out and are drawn to people with similar bubbles. In the process, we create 'tribal bubbles'.
'Humans are tribal. We need an “us,” and those who are not us must be “them.” We form tribal bubbles, and we filter out information that doesn’t confirm our biases about others. We associate with people who look like we do, or think like we do, or believe what we believe. Most of us do this even when we are trying consciously not to.
It’s easy enough to maintain the illusion of “one world tribe” when you are sitting in a polite, politically correct office, sipping a latte with a cherry-picked collection of educated and carefully groomed people from other groups.
In the land of calloused hands and cheap coffee, folks stick to their own kind. As a blue collar guy I can relate well enough to other groups. My pap worked on the railroad his whole life, and like him, when I punch the clock I have to learn to get along with whomever the boss hires, or work just gets a lot harder.
I have a lot of experience working with Mexicans. They’re funny, happy, hard working and easy to get along with. I’m not a Mexican. I’m not one of them. We can have a laugh over something universal, but they have different lifeways and for the most part they stick together. Sure, I could learn Spanish. I make tasty carnitas and I like drinking margaritas in the sun. But, like the man said, sticking a feather up your butt does not make you a chicken. I’ll always be a gringo.
I like being a gringo just fine. I feel more at home with white folks of my class and background than I do with people from other groups. Plenty of crackers are total assholes, but at least I know how to read them better.'
~Jack Donovan 'Mighty White'
Look at soap bubbles~some merge, others bounce off each other. It's not just a case of race, creed of religious persuasion. It's a matter of energy and chemistry, with a little geometry thrown in.
We are more than just bony bags of electrically-charged jelly. Every living thing creates a field of energy~this 'aura' is not something mystical or imaginary. It has been photographed, measured and otherwise quantified, though it is still poorly understood.
'The fields responsible for the development and maintenance of bodily form in plants and animals are called morphogenetic fields. In animals, the organization of behavior and mental activity depends on behavioral and mental fields. The organization of societies and cultures depends on social and cultural fields. All these kinds of organizing fields are morphic fields.
Morphic fields are located within and around the systems they organize. Like quantum fields, they work probabilistically. They restrict, or impose order upon, the inherent indeterminism of the systems under their influence. Thus, for example, a protein field organizes the way in which the chain of amino acids (the “primary structure” determined by the genes) coils and folds up to give the characteristic three-dimensional form of the protein, “choosing” from among many possible structures, all equally possible from an energetic point of view. Social fields coordinate the behavior of individuals within social groups, for example, the behavior of fish in schools or birds in flocks.
The mathematician René Thom has created mathematical models of morphogenetic fields in which the endpoints toward which a system develops are defined as attractors. In the branch of mathematics known as dynamics, attractors represent the limits toward which dynamical systems are drawn. They provide a scientific way of thinking about ends, purposes, goals, or intentions. All morphic fields contain attractors.'
~Morphic Fields and Morphic Resonance, Rupert Sheldrake
Our various overlapping morphic fields comprise who we are, both as individuals, and as part of a larger tribe. The Soul and the Folk-Soul. We all vibrate at different rates on different levels, depending on time of day, heat and humidity, last meal and general mood, against the steady backbeat of the eath's 7.83 Herz. If you strike a note on a piano, the corresponding string on a harp in the same room will vibrate as if it had been plucked. That's resonance. Socially, this happens when we meet someone we instantly get along with, like you've known each other all your lives. Other people may take one look at you and hate your guts.
Hanging out with people of like bubbles energizes you, makes you feel good, alive. Being stuck with a bunch of dissonant bubbles is boring, draining and irritating. Naturally we seek out those company we enjoy. You have more fun and there's fewer fights.
Because we are bounded by yet another bubble~a biochemical one. Every life form on this planet exists within a tiny range of natural conditions~heat, light, air, water, food, in the right amounts and at the right temperature. For anything approaching what we could describe as 'health', a balanced diet of live, healthy food is essential. All these things contribute to a state of consciousness that is awake and aware. Also generally happy, all things considered. The current state of the Mass Mind is anything but any of this.
They are kept entranced by trivialities. Having been gradually robbed of any true Identity by the global corporate collectivists, they are given a freshly-minted new one~as a Packers fan, or wannabe American Idol. Your tribe has been replaced by the Kardashians, Oscar Night & the Grammys. There is another class of 'fans' who actually participate in the sport they have adopted as their own. Bass fishermen, hunters, even golfers fall into this category. Their tribe is at least based on actively DOING something, besides eating nachos and watching football~truly the 21st century bread and circuses. Poker players are the last of the hunter gatherer tribes~living by their wits and luck~in a word, hamingjar.
All this is misdirection, to keep you from seeing what the other hand is doing. The banksters are having a global 'fire sale'. At stake? The world. All of it, including the US of A, your life and the future of your children. Whether they are deliberately imploding the world's economy, or have simply lost control, the point is moot. It is only a matter of time before we have to live in very different ways than we have become accustomed to. We will have to rely on each other for more than pleasant company and a share of the beer tab.
That is IF we choose the path of resistance to tyranny. Collectively, our 'folk', our genotype suffer from a kind of 'soul sickness', characterized by a generail malaise, a lack of faith in ourselves, in the justice of our cause, indeed of our very right to exist. Once that was taken away, we began a trip down the slippery slope that leads to oblivion. That is the REAL 'graveyard of Empires'. There is no doubt we will be remembered.. But not, I fear as the Freedom Fighters we have always envisioned ourselves being, but as a bloody bootprint on the pages of history.
But it is not too late. Tides change, seasons change. There is an ebb and a flow to everything. And as Sir Isaac said so long ago: 'To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction'. The brutal measures passed recently have turned the Constitution into toilet paper, and our freedoms into mere 'liberties', like a 3 day shore leave for a drunken sailor. And we have drunk our fill...not of liquor, or barley pop, but the blood of millions of innocents sacrificed on the altar of Greed and the endless wars we have fought to feed our 'habit'. But lo and behold...the Sleeping Giant stirs. Slowly climbing up out of the fever dream of the last century or so. And our global Masters are afraid. That fear makes them even more dangerous than before. But the chinks in their armor are becoming more and more evident, the lies and degradation at the rotten heart of the Great Society ever more evident.
Like cockroaches, they run from the light.
